The Digital Economy Act

Why are we running this event?
The Digital Economy Bill became the Digital Economy Act (DEA) following Royal Assent in April 2010 and through the wash up procedure.  It is an extremely controversial piece of legislation that will hugely impact on the technology, media and telecoms industries and has the most changes to hit intellectual property (IP) law in recent times.

Our research has shown that as the DEA is a new and radical piece of legislation, potential delegates are keen to gain an overview of topics that are generally applicable to most companies including the new regime to tackle online copyright infringement, internet domain registries, updates to TV/radio regulation and increased criminal sanctions for copyright infringement.

Chaired by John Enser of Olswang, do not miss this unique opportunity to hear from Chris Rowsell of Ofcom who is leading the work on the Initial Obligations Code, Rachel Clark of BIS who has led developments on the online copyright infringement provisions in the Act and representatives from ISPA and Motion Picture Association.

There is a 15 per cent discount for ISPA members to this event. Please see the agenda below for applications and members' discount.
